More and more original varieties of tomatoes are finding residence in the beds of our farmers: black and white, purple and blue. Huge as watermelons and small as peas.
Tomato variety "Brad's Black Heart" was bred in California (USA) by the famous breeder Brad Gates in the early 2000s. With all the external strangeness, the variety successfully takes root in the Russian open spaces.

Growing features
Requires not heavy, loose, nutritious soil. Watering is carried out regularly, in small doses with warm water or drip irrigation. Seedlings are planted from mid-February to early March. The seeds are buried in the soil to a depth of about 3 cm. If the seeds are their own, they are treated with a solution of potassium permanganate, washed with water.
After the appearance of two true leaves, the seedlings dive. Complex feeding and hardening are carried out several times. They are planted in warm greenhouses from the beginning of April, in cold ones (without heating) in early or mid-May. Outdoors from mid-May to early June. It is recommended to plant no more than 2-3 plants per square meter, although if a bush is formed into one stem, the planting density can be increased.
When feeding, preference is given to organic fertilizers. Immediately after planting, the plants are supported with diluted slurry. If there is a lack of sun, it is recommended to add ash. For better growth, it is worth preparing the land in the fall by adding manure to it. The procedure is repeated before planting the seedlings by adding superphosphate and potassium chloride to the manure.
A garter of plants is desirable, although the bush holds the weight of the fruit well... As necessary, leaves are removed for better ventilation of the bush, which reduces the risk of fungal diseases, increases the access of light to the fruits.
As for pinning, the recommendations are different:
- Remove all stepchildren between the leaves, excluding the top. Form a bush into one stem. The advantage of this method is the increase in the number of bushes in a limited area. The downside is that a tall greenhouse is required.
- Leave the stepson under the first inflorescence, fix it, pinch it after the formation of one or two flowering brushes. Plus - the development of fruits on the lower tiers, the formation of a lower bush. Minus - weight reduction, additional garter, the need to pinch an additional stem.
- Form several stems. Leave stepchildren under 1-2-3 inflorescences. Remove the rest of the stepchildren 1-2 times a week, until they have grown to 5-7 cm. This allows you to control the number of fruits for more successful ripening and avoid "crushing" the crop. Experienced gardeners usually leave 5-7 inflorescences on the stem. The fewer brushes on the trunk, the larger the tomatoes.
- Pinch the top of the first trunk after the formation of 5-7 brushes. The crown of the second is removed after the appearance of the first brush.
Variety Black Heart Breda is easily formed, does not require complex agricultural technology. Unlike most indeterminate varieties, it thrives on 3-4 stems. Unpretentious and hardy, resistant to heat, cold snap, disease.
Tomatoes of different weights and shapes can develop on the same bush. It differs only in its inherent taste and aroma, gigantic fruit size, beautiful burgundy-black-purple color.
