  • ginger root - 200 g;
  • sugar - 6 tbsp. l .;
  • water - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • icing sugar - 2 tbsp. l. (for sprinkling).

Cooking steps:

  1. Wash the root, peel and cut into thin slices.
  2. Put them in a saucepan and, pouring water so that it slightly covers the resulting slices, put them on the stove.
  3. Cook until tender, about 30 minutes.
  4. After this time, drain all the liquid from the pan, and sprinkle the boiled pieces of ginger root with sugar and pour 3 tbsp. water.
  5. Return the saucepan with ginger to the stove again, where cook, stirring occasionally, over high heat until the sweet water becomes a viscous syrup.
  6. Carefully remove the slices, then roll in powdered sugar and place on parchment paper to dry further for several hours.

Transfer the finished treat to a jar with a lid. Consume before the expiration date of 3 months.

With dry ginger powder

The burning taste of ginger cannot be interrupted in any way, and in combination with its gastronomic counterpart in the form of dry powder, it will become even more piquant. Such a delicacy, as they say, is not for everybody, but in the period of colds - the very thing.


  • ginger root - 250 g;
  • ground ginger (in powder) - 1 tsp;
  • sugar - 8 tbsp. (for syrup) and 2 tbsp. (for sprinkling);
  • water - 4 tbsp. l.

Cooking steps:

  1. Wash the ginger root, peel and cut into small pieces.
  2. Send them to a heavy-bottomed saucepan and pour in a little water so that it covers the ginger completely.
  3. Send to the stove and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
  4. After the expiration of the time, drain the water from the saucepan, and pour sugar, ground ginger on the soft slices of the root vegetable and add 4 tbsp. l of water.
  5. Return to the stove, where to boil until the syrup thickens, as for jam.
  6. Remove the pieces of ginger from the syrup, roll in sugar and put on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and then send to the oven. You need to dry them there for 20 minutes at a temperature of 160 ° C.

Ready candied fruits should be stored in a glass jar for no more than 3 months.

With lemon

Candied ginger with lemon sourness can be added to baked goods, or you can eat it just like that, with tea - it is much healthier than pastry sweets. In any case, an evening with such a treat will be truly warming.


  • ginger - 200 g;
  • lemon - ½ pc.;
  • water - 5 tbsp. l .;
  • sugar - 10 tbsp. l.

Cooking steps:

  1. Peel the ginger and cut into thin slices.
  2. Put pieces of root vegetable in a saucepan, cover with water and cook for 20 minutes to eliminate bitterness.

The preparation of candied ginger in this recipe is almost the same as the classic one, except that a substitute is used instead of sugar. In this case, fructose. To keep calories to a minimum, you may be advised to take erythritol or stevia powder in an equivalent amount.
